She gave me a book to read about a week ago, and that's all she said about so I just left it in the car with out looking at it twice. I am not a book reader, so if you want me to read a book you have to get me hooked on it first. But since she didn't want to tell me anything about it, I didn't bother reading it. When I saw her Sunday and Wednesday, she wanted to know if I had read the book, I said no, she said she was disappointed, bla bla bla..... Anyway she made me go out to the car where I hadn't moved it (She is a very good guesser), and she made me read the back...
It said:
"About three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, There was a part of him - and I didn't know how dominant that part might be - that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."
The book had me at 'was a vampire'. (Lauren is telling me now to put 'I was wrong, Lauren was right...) The book is called 'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer, anyway its basically a teen, romance, vampire book. AND I LOVE EVERY WORD OF IT!!
When I got home yesterday I finished the movie Timeline, with the sense that I should be reading that book, but I still didn't really want to because, as I said before, I am not a book person. Well it was about 1:26 am and I wasn't really tired (or that's what I was telling myself), so I started on the first chapter kind of excited about the vampire thing but not about the whole book reading thing.
But I turned off my light and turned on the blue rope lights I had hanging from my ceiling, so that my parents would think I was asleep. I loved the book right away, mostly because I kind of identified with 'Bella' (the main character), in more ways than one.
I think that what you have to do to fully enjoy a book, you know imagined it, like you have to be in the story to picture it. Or at least that's what I have to do. But anyway I stayed up all night and took and small 2 hour nap in the after noon, but you could round up the hour I spent on that book to about 14 hours, I just finished.
Well anyway to the point which is that this email is for Lauren, I was looking around to see if there was a second book (There is YAY!!!), and I found out that they want to make a movie!!!!! I think that is soooooooo cool! Because when I first started reading Twilight, I couldn't think of anyone who would be good enough to be Edward through my eyes. Then I thought about Stuart Townsend. But I decided the more I read the book that he wasn't right. But anyway, on the authors web site she gave a list on who she thinks should play who. I was on the phone with Lauren so she didn't see any of the pictures so I want to post them her for her.
You can ignore this post if you want to. (I guess its a little late to say that.)
So, here are my favorite actors and actresses for the cast of Twilight:
Edward: Indisputably the most difficult character to cast, Edward is also the one that I'm most passionately decided upon. The only actor I've ever seen who I think could come close to pulling off Edward Cullen is....(drumroll)....
Henry Cavill
(Annie speaking: I don't like nim for the role.)
(Henry was Albert, the young son in The Count of Monte Cristo.)Can you see it? I know I can!

Bella: My narrator is actually surprisingly easy. there are several people that I think could do a decent job with Bella, Ellen Page and Danielle Panabaker among others. Right now my favorite choice is Emily Browning, of Lemony Snicket's fame:
(Annie speaking: I don't like her for the role.)
Though I would be happy with several possibilities for Bella, I will throw myself off a tall building if they cast some lip synching, popstar-slash-actress in the role. Just FYI.

Carlisle: Second only to Edward on my "passionately decided" list is Carlisle's character. My favorite: Charlie Hunnam. The reason this actor was able to get such a hold on me was his work as the title character in Nicholas Nickleby. He pretty much was Carlisle in that movie.
Charlie: There are tiers to the Charlie wish list. At the very top is John C. Reilly, the Oscar winner. Yeah, not likely, I know. But he would be so perfect:
(Annie Speaking: Not really what I pictured. lauren and I thought of Harrison Ford)
Other options include Vince Vaughn (give it a minute...picture him with a few extra pounds and a receding hair line...can you see it?) and a more likely chance would be Adam LeFevre (I know him as Damon Bradley in Only You).

Alice: The only actress that springs immediately to mind is Rachel Leigh Cook.
(Annie Speaking: I totally agree.)
James: Ah, James! This is one of the most fun to cast. I started out leaning toward Joshua Jackson, who could do a fantastic job (and I still love you, Joshua!), but then I saw Cillian Murphy in Batman Begins. Cillian Murphy!!!
(Annie Speaking: Lauren loves this choice.)
This is the point at which my opinions become less urgent. I'm still up in the air about the rest of them. I did see one actor who caught my eye for an Emmett-type...

Emmett: Daniel Cudmore, X-Men's Colossus.
Rosalie: I didn't find an actress that looked like Rosalie to me, but I did find a model...Joanna Krupa. And hey, don't all models want to be actresses?
Laurent: Do you think John Stamos would mind doing a cameo? And Graham Greene seems like a natural for Billy, if Billy's character makes it into the movie...
Thank you everyone for your suggestions about who you would like to see in Twilight! Here are some of your suggestions-the most popular, and the ones that I liked the best:
(Annie Speaking: The stars will be my rating.1 to 5)

And finally, I found my favorite Jacob Black, though he's a New Moon - aged Jacob (which means he'd be way, way too old to ever play Jacob if they ever made New Moon into a movie. Sigh. This is sort of what Jacob looks like in my head, though.)
Steven Strait ***** (Annie Speaking: I LOVE THIS GUY!!!!)
I hope you all enjoyed that as mush as I (and I suspect Lauren) have.
Till next time (or at least the next book)
