Snake bursts after gobbling gator
An unusual clash between a 6-foot (1.8m) alligator and a 13-foot (3.9m) python has left two of the deadliest predators dead in Florida's swamps.
The Burmese python tried to swallow its fearsome rival whole but then exploded.
The remains of the two giant reptiles were found by astonished rangers in the Everglades National Park.
The rangers say the find suggests that non-native Burmese pythons might even challenge alligators' leading position in the food chain in the swamps.

The python's remains with the victim's tail protruding from its burst midsection were found last week. The head of the python was missing.
"Encounters like that are almost never seen in the wild... And here we are," Frank Mazzotti, a University of Florida wildlife professor, was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency.
"They were probably evenly matched in size. If the python got a good grip on the alligator before the alligator got a good grip on him, he could win," Professor Mazzotti said.
He said the alligator may have clawed at the python's stomach, leading it to burst.
"Clearly, if they can kill an alligator they can kill other species," Prof Mazzotti said.
He said that there had been four known encounters between the two species in the past. In the other cases, the alligator won or the battle was an apparent draw.
Burmese pythons - many of whom have been dumped by their owners - have thrived in the wet and hot climate of Florida's swamps over the past 20 years.

Another update on Drake.
2/10/06
"I went and spent a couple days with Drake. Hopefully today the wires will be taken off and he will be able to eat. That is the good news!!!!! The bad news, well it looks like almost everyone of his teeth will need help. Top and bottom, he will learn more today. He has lost a lot of weight, so now he will be able to gain some back. I asked him about the Kids Choice Awards, did he think he would be going. It is still to soon for him to know, it will depend on the next phase of healing for him. I would feel the exact same way. He finally got all the cards that you all sent, just know they cheered Drake up............he is still a kid at heart. When I walked in he thought it was Christmas! Thank you for helping him smile it helped his spirit lift more than you will ever know. He loves the fact that his fans are kids.

"Edit: "Well bummer, Drake went to the dentist.................no wires removed today.Oh that must have been a terrible let down for Drake. He was so sure they were coming off today. Maybe next week."

"Drake had the wires removed on Thursday, they gave him something to sleep. Then he went to another dentist, and he was with him for about 4 hours. When Drake left he had temporary teeth. He can eat now, and will be returning to work. We are not exactly sure when, Josh is very concerned it is to early. Josh has been there every step of the way for Drake. They have become very good friends through all of this.
Josh told me about the 2 things Drake is up for....the Drake and Josh show and Drake for best actor. He was thrilled for him, I didn't understand how Drake would be separated from Josh especially since the show is both of them. He said "that's show biz" but he was very happy for Drake. I have been to Drake's a lot more since the accident, Josh is usually there too. Since they are not working, it is nice to see them hanging out. That is the latest update."

Ok,
It's cold, and it's snowing......
I changed my mind, I want it to stop snowing now. Anyway, I have been requested, by Lauren and Reagan, to send them a picture of me with blond hair. It was 2002 and Lauren didn't know me then and Reagan only saw me once or twice that year, also I don't think we knew Bonny or Justin then either.So..........

This is a message from Drake Bell on his recovery:
Hey everybody,
just wanted to let everyone know im feeling much better. I can't believe this happened! I feel like kanye west when this happened to him. He had his jaw shut and had injuries much worse than mine and look at him now! I want to thank all of you guys for supporting me through this. It means so much to me to know that you guys are worried and im glad it has opened some of your eyes to how precious life really is and it could end in a split second. Please keep sending the good thoughts and ill be back on my feet in no time. The doctors say im gonna heal nice and quick. I can't wait to come back and play some concerts! They slowed me down a bit but they will never stop me! thank you all for everything!

Ok,
As I said before, I am not in Texas right now. I am at my grandparents house, and when we got here my mom gave my pa-paw some books. I didn't know what they were, but I found out today....

Just thought you should know. Now I will go reward myself by watching the fantastic movie, Star Wars 2.
